Haven we strive for excellence in offering healthy, genetically sound
puppies. Because of our healthy breeding practices and care in choosing
our parent dogs, we back our puppies with a 2-year health guarantee.
We guarantee our puppies to be free of PRA (progressive retinal atrophy), which affects the eyes, for up to 25 months of age. If you suspect your puppy has PRA, it must be verified by a certified Canine Ophthalmologist with CERF (Canine Eye Registration Foundation).
We guarantee all puppies to be free of hip and elbow dysplasia for up to 25 months of age. If your veterinarian suspects a dysplasia problem, the x-ray showing this condition must be verified by the OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals). This x-ray must be done before 25 months of age.
If any of these conditions are verified, you have the option to have Lab Haven replace the dog with a puppy of comparable breeding, when available, upon receiving a veterinarian's letter confirming that the dog has either condition. The original puppy would have to be returned to Lab Haven with its AKC paperwork. In any case, all veterinary, diagnostic, and return costs will be the owner's responsibility.
These guarantees are dependent upon demonstration that the puppy has received adequate care and nutrition. Anything that affects the development or well-being of the puppy, such as abuse, neglect, trauma, or being used for breeding will void these guarantees. Also, this guarantee does not cover any expenses due to injury, hernias, dental issues, growths, infections, parasites or illness. If the dog has been used for breeding, all guarantees will be voided.

On rare occasion a dew claw can grow back on a dog. Since it is out of our control
we do not cover the removal of a dew claw once the puppy has been adopted.
The health guarantee is only in affect for the original owner of the puppy.
If the puppy is sold or transfered to a new owner, the guarantees will be voided.
